Obama's Education Speech

Page history last edited by Doug Peterson 14 years, 5 months ago

This fall, United States President Obama addressed the students in schools in the United

States around educational issues.  The message was a challenge to succeed.  A copy of

his speech is available from TeacherTube and embedded here.

In advance of the speech, the Whitehouse posted the text of the speech so that, as in all good

teaching practice, you could preview the content to make sure that it meets the needs of your class.

Below, I created a Wordle and a Tag Cloud to illustrate the frequency of the words that appear

in the speech.  Interesting -- what is the message?  If you have a Diigo account, turn it on and

visit the page to see the highlighting and markups from visitors to the page.

The Whitehouse also created and produced some learning resources to accompany the speech.

Unfortunately, many of them are not available inside our firewall.
