3D Effect in SMART Notebooks

3D Effects

3D effects add depth to your presentation and make them more appealing and attractive. We've done it for years with desktop publishing so let's just move it to the Notebook software.

Let's turn this:

Into this:

The Notebook software provides the tool - you just need to provide the artistic touch.

So, here we go. Create your title as in the first picture above. Now, clone the title so that you have two of them. (Or, copy | paste).

Take the second instance of the text and highlight and choose a relief colour. I chose black in the example above.

Next, make it bold and use the opacity property to lighten the text to the desired level.

Can't help you there; ask anyone; I'm not an artist.

Finally, drag the "shadowed" text to the original text. Depending upon where you place it, you can tinker with the illusion of depth of shadow as to how you will make the text stand out.

If you're like me and are constantly moving things around on the screen, you may wish to consider grouping the two pieces of text together so that they move as one.

While it's normally text that we think of when we think of 3D objects, we're not limited to that. With the Notebook software, you can adjust the opacity of any object. So, try it out the next time you want to include some clipart in your production. It adds dramatic eye appeal to your presentations.

No more flat Notebooks!
