Ontario PLN Timeline

Page history last edited by Doug Peterson 13 years, 5 months ago

This was created for a Twitter #FollowFriday on Friday, October 8.  It's a Flash object that embeds nicely into PBWorks but will not on Wordpress.com.  The original blog entry is here.  http://dougpete.wordpress.com/2010/10/08/an-ontario-pln-timeline/

I used the website http://whendidyoujointwitter.com to determine when various Ontario educators first joined the Twitter community.  From there, I saved their Twitter avatar to my desktop and created an entry in a timeline using http://www.timetoast.com/.  Each entry has a date for the timeline where you can add a date and a picture and further details for each entry.

Finally, TimeToast gives you a direct link to the created timeline or you can copy/paste an embed code to put into your webpage or wiki.  I've inserted it into this wik ipage below.

TimeToast is very easy to manipulate and the resulting timelines would have great potential for use in any lesson where you wish to visualize sequential events in a graphic organizer.
